Our company has conducted sedimentologic, geophysical and environmental investigations of potential sand borrow sites along many areas of the Florida Coast, the Gulf Coast of the U.S. and other areas of the U.S. Eastern Seaboard. Our geologists follow the geologic model approach by assembling data into interactive visualization products and data analysis. Results of the typical geophysical survey are used for 3D visualization of sub-bottom features and to calculate the volume of the isopach for recoverable beach quality sand. Geophysical survey data are used to optimize locations of core borings and other sample data to complete characterization of sand resources. Sites investigated by S.E.A. span the range from offshore and shoreface connected shoals to inter-reef sand bodies and relict delta-front sands. Site evaluation projects are packaged in GIS, CAD or geotechnical software platforms as required by state and Federal agencies. S.E.A. has prepared sand recovery permit documents for most states along the East and Gulf Coasts of the U.S., as well as for engineering districts of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and for the U.S. Minerals Management Service.
