S. E. A. conducts environmental assessments for land acquisition, ecological restoration and management. Field surveys are conducted to ground truth hydrological patterns, geological and physical features, and to identify landscape coverage and protected species. Field data and publications are analyzed to determine the environmental condition of a property and the necessary level of effort to restore and manage a property. Spatial analysis using GIS software platforms are among the techniques used to interpret data from digital aerial images. For examples see Figures 1 and 2; vegetation communities mapped according to Florida Natural Areas Inventory (FNAI) guidelines for Florida Community Trust Grant Applications (FCT). Results of analysis and recommendations for restoration activities and proposed structures are provided in final reports and in GIS layers as shown in Figure 3. Management and monitoring plans are developed within the client's short and long-term plans. For example Figure 4. Allapattah Restoration Area is a project site S.E.A. is developing a restoration and management plan to return the property to estimated 1940 conditions based on numerical modeling of hydrological conditions, soils and vegetation patterns.
